The purpose of the Union County Public Schools Auxiliary Services Department is to provide effective and efficient program delivery in support of educating children during and after school in a safe environment.

Dr. Denise Patterson is the Assistant Superintendent for Auxiliary Services. She came to Union County in February 2008. Dr. Patterson began her educational career in Lincoln County as a fourth grade teacher and a K-5 AIG teacher. She served as the assistant principal at North Brook Elementary School for three years and as the principal at North Brook Elementary for over two years. Also, she served as the principal at Norris S. Childers Elementary School which opened in August 2006.

Her awards include being named the 1998-1999 Lincoln County Schools Teacher of the Year, 2002-2003 Lincoln County Schools Assistant Principal of the Year, and the 2007-2008 Lincoln County Schools Prinicpal of the Year.

As Assistant Superintendent for Auxiliary Services, Dr. Patterson supervises elementary principals and facilitates the Assistant Principals' Academy for Leadership Development. Her other responsibilities include working with Student Support Services for Grades K-5, Transportation, After School Programs, Federal Programs, and the Academically and Intellectually Gifted Program.
